While I frequently share the feelings you describe, disappointment when looking at images a few weeks post capture, I think each of the images in your post are well done. Could the atmospheric conditions have been better? Possibly. But the conditions were those that your found when there and you worked with them. Much of Ansel Adams best work was done in Yosemite National Park; Ansel lived right in the park for many years and was able to return to venues time and again, looking for superb light.
I often get home and review photos I’ve taken, thinking it would have been so much better at this different angle or with that thing closer in the foreground, etc. But what I’ve forgotten is the compromises I had to make in the moment. As you describe so well here, nature presents the conditions and we must adapt ourselves to them as best as we can.
My opinion is that depth of meaning, connection, understanding, and expression does not come easy. We must earn it with sometimes very hard effort. While you may not have gotten the photos you hoped for, a trip like this definitely helps reach that depth!
